About Gail Webster-Bishop
Gail is a versatile artist working in oil, acrylic, watercolor, pastel, pen and ink, and pencil, preferring a realistic or impressionistic technique in portrait work, while also using both techniques in florals, seascapes, and landscapes. Portrait work includes people and animals.
She was a member of the Brevard Watercolor Society (BWS), Central Brevard Art Association (CBAA) and the Brevard Cultural Alliance (BCA). Her exhibits include BCA Art in Public Places Program, BWS and CBAA shows, Platinum Coast Orchid Society’s annual show, and other hangings in local offices and businesses.
Gail completed a large portrait of Harry and Harriette Moore which hangs in the Brevard Community College Multi-Cultural Center, Cocoa, Florida.
Special projects include numerous paintings contributed to non-profit and community-related services and organizations such as the Alzheimer’s Foundation Auction, Brevard Schools Foundation, Platinum Coast Orchid Society’s fundraiser for the Candlelighters of Brevard, Serene Harbor, Inc., the Space Coast Cancer Foundation, and for many years paintings were contributed to the PBS TV Auction in Rochester, New York.
Painted and loaned a 14 ft by 4 ft wall mural for the main dining room in Suntree Country Club from 1996 to 2000.
Approximately 50 commissioned portraits were painted in New York prior to 1990 and over 50 commissioned portraits in Florida since 1990.
Gail was a member of several art organizations in Rochester, NY prior to 1990, and also was a member of the 7 Artists Gallery and the Village Gate Gallery in New York.
